We start off with the British-based low-cost airline EasyJet which recently opened new routes from its hub in London Stansted. The latest destinations are Sofia, Marrakech and Sharm el Sheikh. All three routes will start operating in February 2013.

Emirates has strengthened its position in Australia following the launch of flights to Adelaide. The new route complements such services such as Dubai – Melbourne or Dubai – Sydney.

German travellers may want to know that Condor extends its offer of flights with new routes from Frankfurt Airport. The new destinations: Cape Town and Siem Reap will appeal to the enthusiasts of Africa and Asia.

Last but not least, the biggest Scandinavian low-cost carrier Norwegian Air Shuttle has got a lot of buzz recently in the wake of its highly anticipated venture: long-haul flights New York – Oslo, New York – Stockholm as well as flights to Bangkok.
