We are starting this week with the announcement of new routes across Europe. bmi is adding connection to Basel, Switzerland in cooperation with Swiss, tickets are already available. Swedish Skyways is increasing the route network by 50% in March, adding 6 more destinations across Europe. Ryanair is adding fourth Greek city, Thessaloniki to it's network. Details follow in our today's article.

To Basel in Switzerland with bmi and Swiss

British Midland International is starting the routes to Basel on March 27, 2011. The flights will be operated in cooperation with Swiss International Air Lines using an Airbus A319. The aircraft will provide a two-class configuration serving both business and leisure customers. The tickets on the newly opened route from Manchester and London Heathrow (LHR) – Basel are already available for booking.

Skyways adding 50% more destinations

The Swedish low cost carrier Skyways is massively expanding it's route network. In addition to current 12 destinations, 6 more European cities will be served starting March 28. These include: Brussels, Berlin, Stavanger, Bergen, Trondheim and Sundsvall. The airline uses 50 seat Fokker and Embraer aircraft.

Fourth Greek city in Ryanair network

Even Ryanair is expanding. Starting April, the second largest Greek city of Thessaloniki will receive a connection from four European cities. Three times a week service will operate from London Stansted (STN) and Brussels Charleroi. Two times a week connections are commencing from Oslo Rygge and Stockholm Skavsta airports. The tickets are available for as low as 38 EUR one-way.
