Video: British airports start using holographic staff
Several airports in Britain have started to make use of the latest technology to help instruct passengers. See the videos on how the virtual staff aids through the security process.
The virtual assistants are currently installed at London Luton and Manchester airports. We'll be seeing more of them in the near future, if they prove to be doing the job.
Explaining the liquids policy in Manchester
Since the 2006 policy, that limits the amount of liquids to be taken aboard, has been introduced, the staff at Manchester (MAN) airport is trying out all sorts of ways to get the passengers to comply. Real staff, posters, leaflets have all failed. In their latest effort, a virtual staff has been installed. John and Julie instruct the passengers traveling through Terminal 1. See how it works in the following video.
BBC report from London Luton airport
See the report by BBC on this latest technology. The London Luton (LTN) airport director is very confident about the virtual staff. We wonder how this is going to work out in reality. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
